Also known as: Sodium hexafluoroaluminate; Sodium aluminum fluoride Molecular formula: Na₃AlF₆

  Grade: Industrial Grade

Appearance: Powder-like, sandy, granular (white, off-white)

Storage method: Store in a cool, sealed location.

Applications: Electrolytic aluminum, abrasives, abrasive tools, sandpaper, abrasive belts, ceramics, enamel, glass, and casting industries, among others.

Product Applications: Primarily used as a flux in aluminum electrolysis, it also serves as a wear-resistant additive for abrasive products, effectively enhancing the durability, cutting, and grinding performance of grinding wheels while extending their lifespan and shelf life. Additionally, cryolite exhibits excellent chemical stability—under normal conditions, it remains non-decomposing, non-volatile, and non-hygroscopic—and boasts a melting point higher than that of aluminum. Beyond its use in aluminum electrolysis, cryolite is also employed in the production of milky white glass. Furthermore, it can be incorporated into electrolytic solutions for manufacturing aluminum alloys, ferroalloys, and boiling steel, as well as serve as a key ingredient in the formulation of grinding wheels, sandpaper, and abrasive belts.
